![]() I think this is the part that will drive away players who either didn’t try the first Garden Warfare game, or are inexperienced gamers. ![]() After you beat the tutorial, you are dropped in the middle of Crazy Dave’s backyard and are left to your own devices to figure out what to do next. See what I mean? Anyways, the basic storyline is you go on missions to protect Crazy Dave’s house and defeat zombies. I’m sorry, but WHAT IS THAT? Of course, I can’t help but compare it to the original Plants vs Zombies game that came out in 2009, where sunflowers looked like this: For example, the sunflower looks like this: Quick note here, the artwork in this game is not my favorite. ![]() You start the game playing as a sunflower and are immediately dropped into a battle, which teaches you the game’s controls. Crazy Dave is the only human in this universe, and he owns a house that has been converted into Headquarters for the plants army. Storyline: Similar to the first Garden Warfare game, players control a plant in a suburban neighborhood that is now a battle site between plants and zombies. There is a variety of multiplayer options where you can play locally or you can play online with other players. Now, Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2 is back for more. The first game was pretty well reviewed it wasn’t mind blowing or amazing, but it didn’t suck either. I thought it would have been a better decision to make a sequel tower defense only game, but I applaud the company for trying something new. It was an…interesting…choice, one that I personally was apprehensive about when it was released in 2014. I'm giving it 4 rubber chickens.Since Plants vs Zombies was so successful, the company decided to make a spinoff third person shooter / tower defense hybrid called Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare. It's a very likeable game with that goofy sense of humour PopCap game studios always seem to put in their games. I'm definitely I'll keep coming back to this for a while. I was surprised by this game you guys, I thought perhaps it would be the kind of thing where the novelty wears off really quickly, but I think Garden Warfare 2 is up there with games like Splatoon for multiplayer fun. And what a relief that this DOESN'T involve micro-transactions with real money, it's ALL done with currency you earn IN the game. You can also add to your arsenal by paying in-game coins to tear open Sticker packs, these unlock NEW characters to play with and even some funny costume options. Yeah, just in general, the controls feel really slick there are a lot of different abilities to learn across all these characters, but they're ALL fun to try out. Zapping things as a Citron or firing pellets as Kernel Corn! Plus, I guess it's just fun mowing down zombies! I think I had more fun playing as the Plants. I really enjoyed playing as the SHRIMP, a little zombie imp that can call down a devastating robot for maximum firepower! Some maps have you defending a structure from waves of attacks or you'll need to capture and hold points within the level, there's even a mode called Gnome Bomb that has you fighting to carry an explosive garden gnome to your enemy's base. Whether you play solo against the AI, or online in multiplayer with friends, matches offer a variety of objectives. Those mini-missions are a great way of learning all the game's multiplayer mechanics and different modes of play. And I was surprised too by just how much single player content there is. It's such a lively world and I love the cartoony art style. There's so much to do in it, even before you join a multiplayer match! I had heaps of fun taking little solo quests to level up my characters and unlock new goodies. I love this sprawling suburban hub level they've created. You can play as either the Plants OR the Zombies selecting from a variety of character types, each with individual attacks and special moves designed to obliterate your enemies. The game is set in the backyard battleground of Zomburbia. Yeah, and so much so, that we're up to a sequel already! This is a multiplayer, team-based shooter based on the Plants vs Zombies tower defense game (which originally came out about seven years ago now!) You wouldn't think turning that game into a fast-paced shooter like this would work, but it really does! Alright you guys, it's time to see if flower power can rule victorious over the hordes of zombies in Garden Warfare 2!
